Transforming the Future of Children Through Education and Child Protection
ASK has been working with children of artisans in the handicraft industries of Moradabad, Sambhal, and Uttar Pradesh. The initiative focuses on weaning children away from workplaces in brassware manufacturing and jewelry-making from animal bones, ensuring their access to quality education and basic rights.
Since its inception, over 5,000 children have been successfully removed from child labor, securing their rights to safety, education, and health. A pilot initiative in Moradabad’s Rehmat Nagar has become a benchmark for protecting children’s rights and empowering communities.

Meet Salman, who lost his father at a young age. Salman has been supported by our child protection and education program, he now shoulders his family’s responsibility while teaching hundreds of children.
Salman’s journey from a young student at Sankalp School to a dedicated educator is inspiring. Enrolling in our Child Rights and Protection Program in Class 1, he completed his Bachelor’s in Science despite losing his father and shouldering family responsibilities. Overcoming financial challenges, he developed a passion for teaching and worked to shift mindsets in Rehmat Nagar, where children were once engaged in traditional metal and brass work. Driven to give back, Salman returned to Sankalp, shaping young minds and supporting his community.
He now teaches students from grades 5 to 10, mentors younger #children, and manages the school office with remarkable efficiency. His day doesn’t end there—after working at ASK Sankalp School from 9 AM to 4 PM, he continues to support students through evening tuitions.
At ASK, we are incredibly proud of Sareena and all the inspiring girls who have found their calling and are shaping a brighter future.
In Rehmat Nagar, Moradabad, 18-year-old Sareena is a shining example of this spirit. Associated with our Child Rights and Protection Program since the age of 8, Sareena found her confidence and passion through our children's parliament and cultural activities. Her interest in makeup began there—often doing makeup for her classmates during cultural events, which sparked her dream of becoming a makeup artist.
When her father lost his job, Sareena stepped up to support her family. “I wanted to ensure my younger sister’s education and help manage our household expenses,” she recalls.
Despite challenges Sareena pursued what she loves and is now earning ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 monthly, helping her family thrive while pursuing her dream.
At ASK, we are incredibly proud of Sareena and all the inspiring girls who have found their calling and are shaping a brighter future. .
